Atta Khattab is a Palestinian activist, dancer, and head choreographer at El-Funoun Palestinian Popular Dance Troupe. He was arrested in February 2021, provided no legal basis for his arrest and detention, and was subsequently denied access to legal counsel. A list of charges submitted against Khattab referenced his political awareness and cultural activities as an activist, alleging his affiliation with an organization deemed unlawful under Israeli military orders. During Khattab’s interrogation, he contracted COVID-19 and was placed in solitary confinement, where he suffered from ill-treatment, inadequate living conditions, and deliberate negligence. Ata is currently on trial awaiting a sentence, he is held in Ofer prison.
