Hasan Yousef
Hasan Yousef is a Palestinian Legislative Council member and has been a target for the Israeli occupation since 1971 due to his community work, political engagement and organizing. In 2005, he was arrested and sentenced to 6 years in Israeli prison. Despite this, he participated in the Legislative Council elections in 2006 and won a seat as a representative for Ramallah and Al Bireh. After Hasan finished his 6 years sentence, he became a target of the Israeli policy of administrative detention. Most recently, he spent over 22 months in administrative detention in Ofer prison. Out of the approximately 20 years that he has served in prison, two-thirds of that time has been without charge or trial.
